Will Gingrich Bring White Supremacy Back to the White House?

Put “President” in front of Newt Gingrich and there’s an even chance “white supremacy” could be put in front of his presidential moniker.  The suddenly surging Gingrich upped his racially loaded pandering scorecard with the resurface of a handwritten first draft of a series of talks he prepared in 1993 a couple of years before his ascendancy to House Speaker for his prescription for “renewing American civilization”. Gingrich initially scrawled that while Asians, and presumably whites, understood how to build businesses and acquire wealth, Latinos were sorely lacking in wealth and business acumen and blacks were even more hopelessly ignorant of what it took to succeed in the business world.

Gingrich cited no figures, studies, or research to document his blatant falsehood. But he really didn’t need to for two reasons. By the time a member of Gingrich’s staff typed up the notes and prepared the speech for delivery at the National Review Institute, the racially inflammatory digs had been scrubbed out. By the time he delivered the talks they appeared to be racially neutered and came off as just Gingrich pontificating on the his stock tout of free enterprise, personal strength and values, American resolve, and America’s alleged technological superiority.

The other reason Gingrich’s racial pandering passed under the public radar scope is that the GOP had long refined the art of racial code speak. So Gingrich simply entitled his talks “the five pillars of American civilization.” It was understood that talk of values, strength, enterprise, and technology punctuated with the caption “American civilization” was a not so subtle way of boasting of the alleged paramount role of whites in building American civilization and the alleged drain on building American civilization by Latinos, and especially blacks.

Gingrich’s “American civilization” talks were more than bigoted, historically skewed pretensions………………….(READ MORE)

The Hutchinson Report Town Hall of the Air on Saturdays, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM Pacific (3:00 PM – 4:00 Eastern) on KPFK 90.7 FM Los Angeles and streamed globally via www.kpfk.org, on Thursday, January 19 announced the launch of “Classical Connections.” This will be a new weekly segment that features classical music selections, announcements of classical music performances and concerts. It will also feature mini-interviews with those sponsoring, promoting, and playing in the concerts discussing upcoming concerts, the artists and the music live, on air.

This is an exciting unique effort to provide another on-air venue in Southern California for classical music listeners to stay up on the latest events, developments and news in and on the classical music scene in Southern California. This is an innovative blend of classical music and news and interviews with those in the classical musical community on a popular and established public affairs and public issues talk show.

January Impact Micro Awards Announced

Building Healthy Communities Initiative Awards Launched

The Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable announced its Impact Micro Awards for January on Thursday, January 11. The January awards will include the first monthly awards under our Building Healthy Communities Initiative. The initiative supports organizations working in America’s most underserved communities in cities nationally. The city chosen in January is Brownsville, Texas. The Impact Micro Awards are made to support organizations and individuals that have a proven track record of commitment to building community sustainability projects, activities, and service. The micro awards are given monthly. Wells Fargo Foundation is a major partner with the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable Impact Award Program.

The January award recipients are: The Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, and Pathways to Your Future in Los Angeles.  The Building Healthy Communities Initiative award recipients are Healthy Communities of Brownsville, and Casa of Cameron & Willacy Counties in Brownsville, Texas. These groups and community establishments are building sustainable communities through their work to meet the health and educational needs of abused, at risk and homeless children and teens, mentor and train young musicians, and provide social action citizen empowerment leadership training. These organizations have shown by their work and example their unswerving dedication to building sustainable communities. Their mission, work and accomplishments are spotlighted on the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable website: http://www.laupr.org/

“Budget cutbacks, the sharp increase in poverty, and the on-going struggle of small community service groups for funding have made it more imperative that we help fill the funding gap to boost them in their efforts to build community sustainability in under-served communities,” says Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson, “The Impact Micro Awards and the Building Healthy Communities Initiative aim to further community self-reliance and independence. This is the pathway to citizen empowerment.”

The Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable will make its next Impact Awards in February. Information and nominations for the Impact Awards

About Utopian Frontiers – The Book

What if there was a secret city at work on finding answers to the survival of humanity? Technologies beyond your imagination; a city expanding, recruiting and evolving. There is no government, no money, no bosses, institutions, cars or roads; and age takes on new meaning.

This “facity” is one big research product in and of itself, and nothing else quite like it exists on this Earth. This is the city that Erwin Sharp and his family are drawn into on the fringes of a national park. They fall headfirst down the rabbit hole into a world of space probes, cancer cures, and a core myth that defies belief. They soon realize that some doors are only meant to swing one way. This is a parable of trust and hope–a flashing beacon of hope in a world hell-bent on destroying itself. It is ultimately a story of ambition, of owning up to life, showing up and trading up. In a story that is as controversial as it is reassuring, sometimes it is possible to find something you always hoped existed, and in finding it, you confront your own truth as much as that of the world you live in.

What is inside the mysterious Hall 8, and what does that have to do with Erwin? And how is water the mechanism of peace or destruction? Thick with adventure, revelations and twists, this story shows how what we accept is only that which we’ve been conditioned to accept, and why an ancient Mayan prophesy doesn’t actually mean what you think.

Based on a project created by M.H. Parsons and J.P. Roach – http://utopianfrontiers.com/book/
